Relative pronouns

Relative pronouns  are used to  introduce a clause that provides more information about a noun in a sentence.
They can be used to connect short sentences or add a few more details about something that was mentioned.
Like in these sentence:
La modelo que lleva el vestido azul, es mi hermana. The model who is wearing the blue dress is my sister .
Sonia, es la que obtuvo mejores notas. Sonia, is the one who got the best marks.
The words "that", "which", and "who" are not just used in questions. They are used in statements, too. 
When these words are used in statements, they are called relative pronouns.
Mi camiseta, la cual es rosa, esta colgada afuera para secarse. My t-shirt, which is pink, is hanging outside to dry.
El Sr.Moonlight, quién es arquitecto, puede decirnos acerca de los materiales. Mrs. Moonlight, who is an arquitect, can tell us about the materials.
El micro que va hacia el Norte es el que tienes que tomar. The bus 85 that go north is the one you have to take.
El es el profesor de quien te hablé. He is the profesor whom I told you about.
Bárbara es la amiga con la cual podrás compartir el cuarto. Bárbara is the girl with whom you can share the room.
El profesor Gómez es el que dará la clase hoy. The profesor Gómez is who teach today.
Es el pasajero cuyas  valijas se extraviaron.. He is the passenger whose bagages got lost.
