Regular Comparison of Adjectives
To take comparison between two items ( nouns or adverbs) the format used is:
más……que more……than superiority
menos…..que less……..than inferiority
El auto azul es más caro que el auto rojo The blue car is more expensive than the red car
Carlos corre más rápido que Mario Carlos runs more quickly than Mario
El Lago Superior tiene mas agua que el Lago Ontario The Lake Superior has more water than The Lake Ontario
La casa de la esquina es menos costosa que ésta The corner house is less expensive than this house
To take comparison with numbers when the sentence is affirmative the format used is:
más de … more than…
menos de... less than...
Familias con más de dos hijos Families with more than two children
Tengo más de cinco mil dolares ahorrados I have more than five thousand dollars in savings
En menos de una hora estará la cena lista Dinner will be ready in less than one hour

Comparative Adjectives
To form the comparative adjective in a sentence the following format are used:
el … más….de the most for the even sentences
el… menos… de the least for the odd sentences
Este es el tren más rápido de Europa This is the fastest train in Europe
Toronto es la ciudad más grande de Ontario Toronto is the biggest city in Ontario
Julieta es la niña menos alta de la clase Juliete is the smallest girl in the class
Noelia y Nina son las más bonitas del grupo Noelia and Nina are the most beautifull in this group
Héctor es el menos inteligente Héctor is the least inteligent
Like we see in these examples, the definite article agrees in gender and number  with the nouns that follows it.
The superlative adjective is placed after ¨mas¨ or ¨menos¨
And after the superlative adjective the preposition ¨de¨
